Dr. Richard K. Lodwick completed his undergraduate studies at Bluffton University in western Ohio, earning a B.A. in Biology/Pre-Medicine. He completed his Doctorate in Optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry in Columbus, OH. While there he led efforts to work with The Ohio State University and University of Cincinnati athletic departments to assess the visual needs of athletes and was recipient of the Lyle AJ Gassmann Memorial Award, given to the graduate best exemplifying Dr. Gassmann’s humanitarian characteristics, leadership qualities, and service to others.
He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Virginia Optometric Association, and Tidewater Optometric Society. He served on the Virginia Optometric Association Board of Trustees from 2009-2015 and chaired their Annual Conference on Continuing Education from 2012-2020. Locally, he has been an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg, serving on their Board of Directors from 2008-2010, served on the Board of Directors at Avalon and is Charter President of The Ohio State University Alumni Club of the Historic Triangle.
